In the beginning…

When I first started looking at what I was going to do with my time back in 2012-2013, I was very limited as to what I could do, I have two children and when I set up business in 2013 they were 3 and 5.  I wanted to do something that would work around them and wanted something flexible and other jobs and roles didn’t allow for this.  I have always been a stay-at-home Mum and wanted to continue this for as long as possible, so setting up my own business seemed like a logical conclusion.
The previous year (2012) I was volunteering as usual with one of my favourite charity’s Cuidiu when I was approached by a Magician!  He had seen me posting on Facebook regularly and wondered if he could get a few pointers off me on how I did it?  I was delighted to show him how I did it and really enjoyed seeing him learning to do it for himself and that’s where the idea of STOMP came along.  He then recommended me to others and I approached the Local Enterprise Office on how to set up my company.  I started with Design Your Own Website Using WordPress course and then did a Start Your Own Business Course and several other courses over the years since.
I didn’t think very big when I first set up the business –  not many sole traders do and the name STOMP actually stands for Sole Trader, Office, Marketing and PR.  I am delighted to say I now support and train all sizes of business and my business has grown with my clients.
So I set up STOMP Marketing & PR in Co Wicklow on November 7th 2013 and rebranded my business December 2015 to what it is today STOMP Social Media Training after looking at my pool of enquiries and making my business match my clientele.  With my many years of experience in promoting services and charities in Ireland and the UK; I have been very fortunate to establish a strong  network of contacts and over the years have learnt how best to promote a business online and improve their social media scoring.  Creating a professional image and maintaining it is the crux of a great marketing plan and is instrumental in today’s climate in making your business stand out, I can tailor my services to your requirements.

You and I will discuss the best platforms to place your business on and then find the best ways to manage them. I can place you on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ LinkedIn and Instagram and currently have a running knowledge of Pinterest, Periscope and Youtube. Dependent on your business, skill set and time you may want to do one or all of these!  I do emphasize however that people sell to people and will always pull away from giving my clients too much social media to do when face-to-face customer engagement is still essential.  We will together look at your budget and find the best avenues to promote your business online and offline and combination.  There is also some time management platforms (free and paid for) that your business may benefit from using that we can go through.  Using these platforms I can create and implement a marketing plan that will suit your time management and you can either manage yourself or I can do on your behalf.

Overall, I will objectively look at your business as a potential customer and see if your intended message is conveyed properly through your current channels and then make suggestions to you that will improve it if needed.

I also get great pleasure out of organising events:

My previous experience has involved arranging large events to raise the profile in the local community and money for Cuidiu North Wicklow Branch.  This is an arm of the Irish National Charity Cuidiu – Irish Childbirth Trust.  Facebook was used as a large part of promotion as well as Posters, Flyers and Press Releases.

In 2013 I appeared on Ireland AM on TV3 and also appeared on Newstalk for Cuidiu in raising the profile of their National Conference, Positive Parenting Positive Support in April 2013.

I have experience in Public Speaking and Event Arrangement over a number of years with events arranged in England and Ireland benefitting British Red Cross, The Cancer Research Campaign, The Heart Foundation and Cuidiu – Irish Childbirth Trust.

My previous Event experience included overseeing staff responsibilities, promotion of said event, setting up email accounts and Facebook Pages/Events, Liaison with Venues, sourcing and arranging delivery of specialist equipment. From a stage show of Mrs Doubtfire at the RDS to a Data Protection Conference at The Marker Hotel, Dublin I can assist you with your event.
