The new year is finally here and we can move on from what 2021 brought us positively or negatively behind us. With the kids yo-yoing in and out of their respective schools, due to close contacts, PCR and antigen tests all over the place, not seeing family and friends and reaching points in the last two months that my voice hurt a lot because of all the talking I am doing...I am totally ready to start FRESH and hope that this next month brings fresh promise too.
Let's see what you might have missed this month shall we?
Yep, this is coming up some stage in 2022, you will be able to sell your wares directly within your Group. You can also check out recommendations for stuff within the group as well, first hand. It's quite the gift for the shop owner. Want to learn more? Then read this update from Facebook here.
Just like Twitter and now LinkedIn, Facebook has further monetised things for Creators. Many professional people who are setting up themselves as a known brand / person work to build themselves not only on a business page but a personal one too. The terms of service are quite clear and you're not meant to sell on a personal page but you can build your brand there. Well, Facebook - sorry Meta have come to realise this and have now allowed a "Professional Mode" for personal profiles to include analytics and even payment. Want to learn more about this update? Since the name change in November they have been doing a wee bit of tidying up of this platform. You can now manage your profile through Google Maps and in search itself. I think people found it too hard to enter through the old way. I an see the platform being used a lot more because of this update frankly.
You can now update a chat feature as well so your customer to speak to you that through the Business Profile (thanks Facebook).
I'm a little disappointed to say the Google My Business app is being removed UNLESS you have multiple locations or profiles on it and if so, the name will change to the new one. So they are kind of insisting you stick to the web based updates and go through search preferably to update.
This can be a mighty stumbling block for a lot of people and its seen as a bit of a ghost area by many. I really enjoyed this article by makeuseof.com and they explained it really well. Maybe its time to freshen your summary for 2022? Check out the hot tips in this blog.
Last month I shared other ways to record through Clubhouse, well this article from gadgetbridge.com shares four third party ways to do this instead. I'm all about making your life easier! Want to read all about them? Read the full article here.

It's been a restful (mostly) time off of reflection and thoughtfulness, these last couple of weeks. I start every new year with a word or two as to what it may symbolise for me and my tribe and this is the first time I have put pen to paper about it.
Over the last two years I have said 2020 was "highly anticipated". Everything was exciting and energising that that January do you remember? People were going to do better, businesses were going to ramp up and a whole lot more. but sadly that year ended with the word "Covid19". Then January 2021 started with "Pivot". Everyone had pivoted some how either personally or professionally. But for me, I felt the year ended with the word "Tested". I honestly felt again personally and professionally that everyone I had been in contact with that last half year was being tested by some force through emotions, physical, mental you name it. I found the last half of the year draining and hard.
I'm back today with fresh strength and renewed passion. I know what I do makes a difference to a lot of people - normally a good one. So today - on day one of 2022 I want the word for me to be "Sustainable". With COP26 towards the end of last year really highlighting the Climate issue and so many people and businesses taking up the mantle, I feel it's important I do too. This transition for everyone isn't going to be cheap or comfortable but I feel if we all just accept this is the way we can improve our children's and grandchildren's lives, we can manage anything.
I hope to meet you soon!
